Keith R. A. DeCandido

Author Guest of Honor

Best known for his Star Trek fiction as well as Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Farscape, Supernatural and much more.

Keith R.A. DeCandido was born in the Bronx to a pack of wild librarians, who trained him in their vile and depraved ways. He is the author of more than fourty novels, most of them in various media universes, ranging from TV shows (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI: NY, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Supernatural) to videogames (Command and Conquer, StarCraft, World of Warcraft), as well as novelizations of Joss Whedon's Serenity and all three Resident Evil films.

Keith currently scripts the monthly Farscape comic, which continues the story forward after The Peacekeeper Wars, working in collaboration with series creator Rockne S. O'Bannon, and he's working on a Dungeons & Dragons novel that's due to be published in the summer of 2011.

Keith's recent work includes the novel Supernatural: Heart of the Dragon; three Farscape comic book miniseries focusing on the character of Ka D'Argo (D'Argo's Lament, D'Argo's Trial, and D'Argo's Quest); the novella "The Unhappy Ones" in Star Trek: Seven Deadly Sins; the Jellico issue of the Star Trek: Captain's Log comic book miniseries; and the first volume of the StarCraft: Ghost Academy manga. In 2009, Keith was inexplicably granted a Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers.

Keith is also a professional percussionist, currently with the parody band Boogie Knights, a first-degree black belt in Kenshikai karate, and a lifelong fan of the World Champion New York Yankees. He still lives in the Bronx.

Find out less at his mediocre web site at DeCandido.net, read his inane ramblings at kradical.livejournal.com, or follow him on either Facebook or Twitter under the user name KRADeC.
