Bob "Sammy Terry" Carter

Horror Guest of Honor

"In the dead of night, when the moon is high, and the ill winds blow, and the banshees cry, and the moonlight casts an unearthly glow, arise my love with tales of woe!"

If you grew up around central Indiana from the early 1960's to the late 1980's, chances are that the highlight of your Friday night was staying up way past your bedtime and watching Sammy Terry rise from his coffin and host Nightmare Theatre. For nearly 40 years, Bob Carter has been portraying everyone's favorite ghoul both in the long running TV show on WTTV Channel 4 and now "dead and in person" at this years convention.

After completing degrees in Theater and Radio at Decatur University and Television at Syracuse University, Bob began his career as a disc jockey in Fort Wayne working for the then owners of Channel 4. His dynamic and eerie voice proved ideal for live commercials during the Shock Theatre TV show, which quickly led to the creation of the character for which he is best known. During the brief period in the late 1970's when Nightmare Theatre stopped production, Bob opened the Family Music Center on Shadeland Ave where he can still be found today when he's not out scaring off the competition.

Accompanied by his trusty sidekick George the spider, Inconjunction is excited, and a little terrified, to welcome Sammy Terry to the convention.

Pleasant Nightmares!

It's Official! Bob's appearance was previously listed as tentative, but as of May 25th, 2000 he is now an official guest of the convention! He has confirmed his appearance schedule and will in fact be able to attend InConJunction. We're all looking forward to him being there and hope everyone gets a chance to meet him.
