NOTE: This page contains archived web-site content. InConJunction Short Story Contest InConJunction has always prided itself on our promotion of literacy and of new authors. But this year, we're really putting our money where our mouth is. As part of this years' convention we're holding a short story contest with the winning entry published in the 2007 convention program book. That's right, we're giving one outstanding author the chance to see their work published for our audience to read! The contest will be refereed by Lou Harry, our featured author guest and editor at Indy Men's Magazine. Along with selecting the winning story, Mr. Harry will be critiquing each entry and will meet with each author at the convention to provide both written and oral comments in a private 15 minute session to discuss their story, writing style, and techniques they can use to improve their chances for future publication. Short stories must be in finished form (Works in process can instead be submitted to the Writer's Workshop at InConJunstion) and may be of any fiction genre (fantasy, sci-fi, horror, etc). Stories should also be no longer than 1,000 words and have G or PG rated content. We also require that all submissions be word processed in an electronic form with appropriate manuscript format, double spaced, and include the participants name and contact information on a separate page. Short stories will be accepted on a "first come" basis and no submission will be accepted for this contest after Friday, May 25 2007 to allow time for judging and publication. The InConJuntion Short Story contest requires a pre-registration fee of $25 to cover Mr. Harry's time and defray publication costs of the winning entry in addition to the regular InConJunction registration fee. Payments will only be accepted online via Paypal from the link on the InConJunction Registration page. All funds are 100% refundable at the convention in the unfortunate event that Mr. Harry is unable to attend. After pre-registering, it is the attendee's responsibility to send their manuscript in both printed and electronic forms to:
