Doctor Who Room Schedule

Friday, July 4th
2:00 PM An Unearthly Child
On November 23rd of 1963, two hapless British school teachers, curious of the origins of a strange new student, wandered into a seemingly abandoned junkyard and took science-fiction fans on a fantastic journey that would last more than 27 years on television, and continues to this day in printed works and audio. William Hartnell, a favorite of movie goers for more than 30 years previous, ushered in the soon-to-be coveted role of the heroic, cantankerous, frustrating, and ultimately beloved DOCTOR WHO!
3:30 PM The Aztecs (On DVD!)
One of the most popular of the "historic" dramas, the BBC Film Restoration Team has done a breathtaking job of digitally restoring the once grainy kinescopes to near-videotape quality. In this episode, the Doctor (William Hartnell), Ian, Barbara, and Susan arrive in one of the tombs of the Aztecs, who are undergoing a political turmoil.
5:30 PM The Troughton Years
Forced to retire from the role of the Doctor due to illness, William Hartnell called upon his good friend Patrick Troughton to assume the role the mysterious time traveler. The move was an incredible gamble for the BBC, one that paid off in dividends and established Doctor Who's amazing longevity! Hosted by Jon Pertwee, we present a retrospective of Patrick's fabulous career, as well as several of his "missing episodes", including his memorable turn in a dual role as the Doctor and "The Enemy of the World".
7:00 PM Whoosier Network Presentation
20 years of Whoosier Hysteria! Mark "De Boss" Dooley offers a retrospective of over 20 years of Whoosier Network memories, including clips from the famous Whoosiercons!
7:30 PM The Dominators
The Doctor (Patrick Troughton), Jaime, and Zoe arrive on a desert planet in time to match wits with the evil Dominators and their destructive druids, the Quarks!
9:30 PM The War Games
For years, the origin of the Doctor was a secret shrouded in an enigma. With this epic story, all of that changed as the Doctor (Patrick Troughton), Jaime, and Zoe battle not only a megalomaniac bent on conquering the universe with armies drawn from tumultuous periods of Earth history, but also an officer possessing the knowledge of space/time travel... one of the Doctor's own people!
1:30 AM The Silurians
In 1969, due to drastic cuts in the BBC budget, the Doctor's adventures became, for the most part, Earthbound in nature, and a new Doctor stepped into the spotlight... the dashing, charismatic Jon Pertwee! In this episode, the Doctor, now out of necessity working for the United Nations International Taskforce, teams with Dr. Liz Shaw to stop a takeover of Earth by the relentless Silurian race. Their mission will be difficult... because they may actually have a legitimate claim to the planet!
4:30 AM Terror of the Autons
The Doctor has battled every conceivable alien menace, but never an enemy more relentless, more scheming than the evil Time Lord known only as The Master! Portrayed by Jon Pertwee's good friend and accomplished actor Roger Delgado, the Master would go on to be the Moriarty to the Doctor's Sherlock Holmes, and their intergalactic clashes would become the stuff of television legend! In this episode, the Master, newly arrived on Earth, makes a bargain with the once-dormant Nestine Consciousness to revive the Autons. Meanwhile, the Doctor attempts to break in new assistant Jo Grant.

Saturday, July 5th
6:30 AM The Day of the Daleks
On the eve of an important United Nations conference on world peace, the Doctor (Jon Pertwee), Jo, and the Brigadier find themselves caught between a time-traveling militia group and the Daleks (along with their slaves, the ape-like Ogruns), both of whom are seeking the same goal... to stop the conference from ever happening!
8:00 AM The Green Death
Doctor Who's tenth season ended on a bittersweet note... a heavy message on man's tampering with ecology and the departure of a longtime cast member as the Doctor matches wits with an enemy of vast intellect... and replaceable parts!
10:30 AM The Brain of Morbius
As popular as Doctor Who had become under Jon Pertwee, the series would soar to new heights of greatness with the arrival of Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. For fans around the world, Tom Baker's seven years as the nomadic, bemused eccentric encompassed everything best about Doctor Who. In this episode, the Doctor and new companion Sarah Jane Smith arrive on a planet inhabited by a strange cult of warrior women and a mad scientist harboring a megalomaniac looking to get a head... and no, that's not a typo.
12:30 PM The Pyramids of Mars
In one of the most popular episodes of the series, the Doctor (Tom Baker) and Sarah are drawn into a madman's attempt to gain ultimate power from ancient icons located within a turn-of-the-century mansion's private collection of artifacts.
2:00 PM Shada
The infamous episode, shut down by a BBC technicians' strike after being partially completed, finds the Doctor battling a ruthless villain determined to seize an all-powerful book in the Doctor's keep. With the aid of the BBC special effects team and bridging narration by Tom Baker himself, Shada is finally completed as best can be. This great episode is remembered as one of the all-time best by Douglas ("Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy") Adams, and has been recently remade as an internet drama starring Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, Lalla Ward as Time Lady Romana, and John Leeson as K-9.
3:30 PM The Keeper of Traken
The Fourth Doctor's era comes to a close during the next three episodes which we proudly present in sequential order. The Doctor (Tom Baker) and the youthful mathematician Adric is summoned to the planet Traken to mediate in the choosing of an all-powerful Keeper. But the ceremony is bespoiled when the Master, barely having survived his last encounter with the Doctor, arrives to take the position! This episode marks the arrival of popular actor Anthony Ainley, here in a dual role... Councilman Tremas, father to the Princess Nyssa, and the newest incarnation of the Master!
5:00 PM Logopolis
The Doctor (Tom Baker) foresees his end as the TARDIS cloister bells sound and he prepares for the moment, hurried along by the mechanations of the evil Master! Nyssa joins the TARDIS crew, as well as a hapless airline attendant named Tegan Jovanka.
6:30 PM Doorprize Drawing I
Stop by to see who's going to win our first big prize package (and if you haven't bought your tickets, what the heck are ya waitin' for?!!!)
6:45 PM Castrovalva
After a memorable seven-year run, Tom Baker stepped out of the role and turned it over to the young, witty Peter Davison ("All Creatures Great and Small), whose cricket-playing Fifth Doctor charmed a now-world wide audience (and not a few of the female fans as well). In his first episode, the TARDIS crew must pull together to take a very unstable (and possibly dying) Doctor to the tranquility of Castrovalva... unaware that the Master may already have a foothold on the planet!
8:30 PM Earthshock
Rarily have the stakes been higher when the Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) must stop the Cybermen, now possessing a rudimentary method of time travel, from destroying the planet Earth at its very birth! But the price of victory may be too great.
10:00 PM Arc of Infinity
Summoned back to Gallifrey along with Nyssa, the Doctor (Peter Davison) faces a tribunal to determine his involvement in a number of cataclysmic time disturbances, unaware that an old enemy awaits in the shadows. A truly memorable Johnny Byrne-scripted tale features legendary actor Michael Gough ("The Celestial Toymaker", many Hammer horror films, and recently the Batman movie series' Alfred Pennyworth), and a little-known actor named Colin Baker as a villainous Commander of the Prydonian Guard, who would later assume the role of the Doctor himself!
11:30 PM Mawdryn Undead
We proudly present the Black Guardian trilogy in its entirety, which heralded the twentieth anniversary of the longest-running drama on television! The Guardian, still thirsting for revenge against the Doctor for his ignoble defeat during the search for the Key to Time, manipulates a strange, mischievous prep school student into joining the TARDIS crew with the express purpose of killing the Doctor! But the Doctor has some great help from one of the school's best teachers, an old friend named Alastair Lethbridge Stewart.
1:00 AM Terminus
The Doctor (Peter Davison) and his companions arrive on a leper ship, unaware that the cure for the devastating disease may have been under their noses all along.
2:30 AM Enlightenment
An elitest group of near-omnipotent beings race through space on their fantastic flying yachts, while the Doctor (Peter Davison), Tegan, and Turlough battle against its more piratical members. Meanwhile, the Black Guardian gives Turlough an ultimatum that could lead to the Doctor's final destruction!
4:00 AM Planet of Fire
The origin of Turlough is finally revealed, as a new companion, Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown arrives!
5:30 AM The Caves of Androzani (on DVD)
Peter Davison's exit from Doctor Who is a masterful Robert Holmes effort, and arguably the all-time best regeneration episode. On the mining planet of Castrovalva, the Doctor and Peri, slowly dying from their accidental exposure to an alien virus, are caught in a civil war between the forces of a billionaire industrialist who has acquired the planet and the inhabitants led by the mad Sharez Jek, possibly the most tragic of Doctor Who villains.

Sunday, July 6th
7:00 AM The Twin Dilemma
Colin Baker broke all the rules... he was the first actor to play the Doctor after having previously appeared on the show in a supporting role, his fans often fell into two camps (you either loved him or hated him), and he brought an air of cantankerousness to the character not seen since the days of William Hartnell. Though his run was very short-lived, it produced some truly memorable stories. In this episode, the Doctor slowly recovers from his post-regeneration madness, nearly kills Peri, and sends the TARDIS into an adventure involving two vastly intelligent twins.
8:30 AM Vengeance on Varos (on DVD)
Nabil Shaban made a memorable impression on fans as the Sil, a ruthless, slug-like business operator who holds the residents of Varos in an iron grip with his own version of reality shows... public executions and torture sessions! Can the Doctor (Colin Baker) score a ratings coup against the Sil, or will the Sil hand him an early cancellation? Also featured is Jason Connery (son of the legendary Sean Connery and star of the popular Robin of Sherwood series).
10:00 AM Battlefield
UNIT has its last day in the sun, and what a send-out it is... a battle to the death against the evil Morgan LeFey (Jean Marsh of Upstairs, Downstairs) with Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy, his companion Ace, and the Brigadier. And if that's not enough to get you to stand up and cheer, an old friend from the Doctor's past is given one last moment to shine like new.
11:30 AM The Curse of Fenric
The Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) takes Ace on a journey to discover her past during a vital moment in wartorn England in the 1940's, when an ancient curse threatens to bring death to both Nazis and Allied forces alike!
1:00 PM Doorprize Drawing II
Our last doorprize drawings will be held at this time. Followed immediately by.
1:15 PM Who-Net Salutations
Mark "De Boss" Dooley offers a special toast and remembrance to the Whoosier Network. Mark would very much appreciate the presence of all attending Who-Net members.
1:30 PM DOCTOR WHO AND THE DALEKS (1966)
Winding up our fantastic Who-Fest is the DVD release of the first of Peter Cushing's fantastically entertaining Dalek films. Based on the first Dalek story, "The Petrified Planet", the Doctor (here an eccentric scientist rather than an alien time traveler), Susan, Barbra (portrayed as a niece to the Doctor), and suitor Ian Chesterton travel to the planet of Skaro, whose inhabitants, the peace-loving Thals, are in danger of annihilation by the metal-encased mutants known as the Daleks!
