OPENING REMARKS by Dave Henninger

Since we're all busy with the holidays this newsletter will be very brief.

This time the Anniversary Party will also mark the beginning of the last month in the office of treasurer of Bob McGillem. Bob is only our third treasurer in seventeen years. We have been singularly fortunate having someone as conscientious and trustworthy as Bob guarding our money. (Sometimes from us!) Be sure to thank him when you see him at the party.

THE ELECTION SLATE

The Club and Con elections will be held at the January meeting Saturday January 4th. Details in the next Newsletter.

Running so far are:

President: Jeff Thompson (Incumbent - Unopposed)

Vice President: Angalee Shepherd Vs Keith Chike (Incumbent)

Treasurer: Rebecca Chike (Unopposed) [Bob McGillem is not running for re-election]

Secretary: Lynette Cowper (Incumbent - Unopposed)

Sgt. at Arms: Mike Suess (Incumbent - Unopposed)

Con-Chairbeing: Randy Porter Vs Roseann Packer and Tim Simpson (running as a team)

Nominations remain open until just before the elections at the January meeting. You can still nominate someone you think can do a good job or throw your own space helmet in the mostly circular artifact. Hey, while he's not looking now's our chance to nominate Bob for Con Chair!

DO YOU WANT TO BE ON THE WEB PAGE by Dave Henninger

Jeff Thompson, who among other duties is manager of our club home page on the WEB, would like to know if those of us with E-mail addresses would like them published on the page. He will also establish links from the club WEB page to your own home page if you want him to. E-mail your desires and addresses to Jeff at webmaster@inconjunction.org.

THE ANNIVARSARY PARTY

The reason for the party is to commemorate the birthday of the club. The first meeting was held on the second Saturday of December, 1979. Of course we could call it a Winterfair party from the Miles Vorkosigan stories but then you would have to be a Lois McMaster Bujold fan to figure it out.

The party will be at the Washington Park Cemetery Family Center; Saturday, December 14 beginning about 6:00 PM. This is located on Kessler Blvd. about one block east of the intersection of Kessler Blvd., 56th St. and Cooper Rd. (This is just a cross street. Two legs of it are Kessler Blvd. forming its right angle east and south. 56th St. is the west leg of the cross and Cooper is the north leg.) BRING FOOD! Contact Keith or Rebecca Chike about what to bring at 571-0433 or e-mail chikester@aol.com.

That's all for this month. Remember to e-mail us anything you want in the Circular next month. See you at the Party! Happy Holidays!
